The 'Mysterious' Aircraft Type Parked for Over 20 Years at PTDI
Bandung - Two aircraft with unknown owners are parked on the PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) property in Bandung. Despite announcements on social media and ongoing searches, PTDI has yet to locate the aircraft's owners.
detikJabar had the opportunity to visit PTDI and see firsthand the two aircraft, which have been parked for over 20 years on the premises of this state-owned aircraft factory.
The two aircraft are Boeing 737-200s PK-IJI (MSN-22125) and PK-IJJ (MSN-22130).
The white-and-green aircraft bear the inscriptions "BOURAQ" and "CAMAR." Upon closer inspection, the aircraft were in quite a concerning condition, as they had not been repaired since they were placed at PTDI.
Although the aircraft were intact, both had lost their engines. This was confirmed by Adi Prastowo, Manager of Corporate Communications and Institutional Relations at PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero).
"The engine is gone. It's not yet known whether it was gone when it arrived here or what it looked like," Adi said on Tuesday (June 9, 2026).
Adi stated that although the two planes had "BOURAQ" and "CAMAR" written on their fuselages, he believed they were the same aircraft.
"The CAMAR one is still a BOURAQ. The only difference is the color; the CAMAR one has green at the end," he added.
According to Adi, the two planes were not commercial passenger aircraft, but rather cargo aircraft. "They're cargo planes," Adi said.
