PTDI Delivers One Airplane to the Indonesian Air Force
Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force has received a fleet of local manufacturer aircraft. The plane was produced by PT Dirgantara Indonesia or PTDI which was ordered by the Indonesia Ministry of Defense for the Air Force.
This new fleet is airplane type NC212i Troop Transport. This airplane has successfully taken off from the PTDI Hangar Delivery Center, Bandung to Skadron Udara 4, Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base, Malang.
"Alhamdulillah, this morning we deliver another NC212i airplane to be operated by the Indonesian Air Force. The second airplane with the Troop Transport configuration is expected to support the duties and operations of the Indonesian Air Force, especially in its involvement in guarding the territory of the Republic of Indonesia in a pandemic situation like this," said the President Director of PTDI. Elfien Goentoro in his statement, Tuesday (26/10/2021).
The airplane with the tail number AX-2127 is the second NC212i airplane that has been delivered by PTDI from the procurement contract for 9 (nine) units NC212i airplane by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the Indonesian Air Force.
The previous airplane was delivered on January 26, 2021, while the third airplane is planned to be completed and delivered at the end of 2021.
As per the contract agreement with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, the 4 airplane ordered have a Troop Transport configuration, 4 other units have a Rain Making configuration, and the remaining 1 unit is a Navigation Training configuration.
The NC212i is a light turboprop airplane with a modern full glass cockpit and autopilot avionics system, which is equipped with a ramp door and has a spacious cabin size compared to other airplane in its class. Since 2014, PTDI is the only aircraft manufacturing industry in the world that produces NC212i.
To date, 118 units of the NC212i series have been produced and delivered by PTDI both domestically and abroad. Meanwhile, in total there are 602 population units of the NC212 series aircraft in the world.
