PTDI Completes CN235 ordered by Nepal and NC212i ordered by Thailand

AIRSPACE REVIEW (AngkasaReview.com) - Having experienced hard times in the early Reformation Era in the late 1990s to early 2000s, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) slowly began to rise.

The aircraft manufacturer, which has maternity names three times, is starting to get excited again, busy with the process of ordering its flagship aircraft NC212i-400 and CN235-220.

After handing over the CN295 Special Mission to the Indonesian Air Force (6/27/2019), the aircraft manufacturer from Paris van Java is completing work on a CN235 order from the Nepal Army Aviation Service and an NC212i unit from MoAC (Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives) Thailand.

Both aircraft are now undergoing intensive flight testing by PTDI before being handed over to the customer.

For Sobat AR who lives around the Husein Sastranegara Airport area, it must be familiar with the passing of this green-studded plane (not yet using the buyer livery).

Ordered aircraft from Nepal's Army got the factory registration number AX-2347 with serial number N-68 (682 CN235 series production by PTDI)

While the NC-212i MoAC Thailand order obtained the AX-2124 factory registration number and the N-116 serial number (the 116th NC212 series production by PTDI).

The process of purchasing CN235 for the Nepalese Army was signed on June 16, 2017 at the Nepalese Army Headquarters in Kathmandu with contract number No. MGO / Fixed Wing / 073/74/65.

The contract was signed by Maj. Gen. Purna B. Silawal as the Master General of Ordnance (Provision) of the Nepalese Army and Budi Santoso as the President Director of PTDI at that time.CN235-220
Specifically for the CN235 aircraft, to completing a flight test flight for the AD Nepal order, PTDI is currently completing the manufacturing process of the CN235 MPA (maritime patrol) ordered by the AU AU. The aircraft with the serial number N-69 and named Senegal-2 is almost finished assembled and then ready for flight testing.

As is known, in December 2016 PTDI had flown (ferry flight) the first CN235-220M orders from Senegal Army. The multipurpose transport aircraft with the registration number AX-2344 departed from Bandung to Dakar, Senegal. The flight took 11 days to visit Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Chad and Burkina Faso.

Meanwhile, the NC212i series was ordered by MoAC Thailand in two units. The second aircraft N-116 is in the process of completing its assembly.

In November 2016, PTDI had also flown a CN235 order from the Thai Air Police (RTF). The aircraft registered with AX-2343 was flown from Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung to Hat Yai International Airport, Thailand.

Until now PTDI has succeeded in producing and sending 67 units of CN235 and 114 units of NC212.

In addition to domestic needs, both aircraft are also exported to foreign countries.

Noted users are Venezuela, Senegal, Burkina Faso, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines.
