Two aircraft by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) were exhibited at the 43rd anniversary of PT DI, at the PT DI Complex on Jalan Padjajaran, Bandung, Saturday (08/24/2019).
The first aircraft on display was CN 235. This aircraft has a unique multi-configuration, so this aircraft can be used for military missions. It can also be used for cargo, medical aircraft, surveillance missions, up to VIPs, even passengers.
"So, for CN 235, we will send it to Nepal next September. The aircraft has 7 configurations that can change the configurations quickly, "said PT DI's Production Director, Muhammad Ridlo Akbar, after the 43rd anniversary of PT DI on Saturday (08/24/2019).
The second aircraft on display is the N 219. This type of aircraft is unique in being able to fly at relatively low altitudes and is projected to fly in mountainous regions.
"For N 219, the philosophy is built to connect economic equality in Indonesia. We see areas that are difficult to access by vehicles, the foundation is also short. So, we designed the aircraft to be able to fly with a 600-meter runway, rarely an aircraft that could be like that, "Ridlo said.
Even the N 219 can manoeuvre at low speeds for mountainous terrain. Even in 59 knots it can still manoeuvre.
"That's amazing, because it's very slow. Then it is the biggest in its class, it weighs 2.3-ton and can be carried in one fly, "he said.
Ridlo targets that the N 219 will be completed by the end of this year, so that next year it can be mass produced. (Tito Rohmatulloh/BandungKita)
