Governor of West Java (West Java) M Ridwan Kamil and his wife, Atalia Praratya reviewed the portable ventilator, named Ventilator Indonesia or Vent-I, which is confirmed by the Balai Pengamanan Fasilitas Kesehatan (BPFK), Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
Ventilator Vent-I is a product collaboration between Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) (PTDI). After completing any product tests and clinical trials, Ventilator Vent-I will be produced as many as 500 products / week by PTDI.
As the ministerial agreement, PTDI executes its production line not only for aircraft, but also ventilator as health care products due to this COVID-19 situation. This ventilator turns into the majority needs nowadays, intended for the one who is sick/infected but still can breath though. “Well, if everything goes smoothly, we can produce minimum for 500 products / week or around 2,000 per month or less,” said Ridwan Kamil, Friday (24/4).
The governor added that this ventilator production permit is still being processed and the following process is running well by now, exactly for the initial phase 200 ventilators production process. So it is expected that the needs of ventilators in Indonesia can be met properly.
PTDI Production Director, M. Ridlo Akbar also added, “PTDI was assigned by the Ministry to assist in the process of industrialization of the ventilator. We conduct this industrialization with the innovator, ITB.”
We are currently preparing its production line facilities for serial production, and our major focus by now is the reverse engineering of unavailable components in Indonesia. We hope that after the license has been issued for its industrialization process, we can immediately start our next target of producing up to 500 units per week, said Ridlo.
