PRESS RELEASE

No. PTD/013/SP-HUMAS/VIII/2021

Bandung, August 30, 2021 - PTDI Public Relations

In the midst of the decline in the industrial sector, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) / PTDI targets to complete three National Strategic Programs. Not only to be part of connecting all regions of Indonesia, but also to be part of the independence of the domestic defense industry and maintain national security.

This pandemic condition has caused a decrease in the global aerospace market by 40 percent, including PTDI. PTDI President Director Elfien Goentoro said "That in 2019 PTDI made a profit of Rp. 150 billion, the pandemic hit finally loading us only 40 percent. But this year, PTDI is still continuing the Three National Strategic Programs, namely PUNA Elang Hitam (Medium Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aircraft) with the target of flying first at the end of 2021. Meanwhile, the N219 Amphibious Aircraft (N219A) and the National Missile are planned to be certified in 2024."

Elfien Goentoro also revealed that this amphibious type aircraft can connect between islands in Indonesia, perfectly suited to the geographical conditions of Indonesia which is an archipelago with 17 thousand islands. The existence of PTDI as a domestic producer is very important, an Indonesian aerospace industry that produces products to support the filling of connectivity and pioneering flight needs in Indonesia, as well as accelerating Indonesia's economic growth more evenly. "Aviation and shipping are an important part of a country like Indonesia. Its function is to reach and connect the 3T areas, namely the outermost, foremost and disadvantaged." He added.

For the N219A aircraft, the need is to cut the existence of airstrip or airport infrastructure development. "It will also accelerate the tourism sector. Because it can land on the beach area of the tourist island that tourists go to." He added.

PUNA Elang Hitam:

The defense and security sector is filled with the development of the Black Eagle Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (PUNA). Together with the consortium, it will continue development to the combatant level in accordance with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in guarding Indonesia's territory in the border area.

PUNA Elang Hitam, which can operate automatically and has a 24-hour flight endurance, was developed together in a national consortium involving PTDI as the lead integrator, PT Len Industri (Persero), LAPAN, Balitbang Kemhan RI, Dislitbang AU, Pothan Kemhan RI, BPPT and ITB.

Mastery of the Black Eagle PUNA technology can be a means for advancing national defense technology which can gradually build the independence of the domestic defense industry to meet the needs of the Main Weapon System (Alutsista) for the TNI. It is intended to produce combatant MALE drone products that can be accepted by the Air Force according to operational requirements and technical specifications.

N219A:

Together with the National Research Priorities (PRN) consortium, the development of a floater for the N219 amphibious aircraft is currently underway, which will be placed under the fuselage as a replacement for the landing gear, so that it can take-off and land on the water surface.

NATIONAL MISSILE:

The National Missile Program, which is run by a consortium consisting of PTDI as lead integrator, PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Pindad (Persero) and PT Mulatama, is developing Surface to Surface missiles in order to realize the independence of the domestic defense industry. To fulfill the needs of the Main Weapon System (Alutsista) for the TNI. Target certification in 2024.

As for completing the three National Strategic Programs, currently PTDI is also still completing several ongoing contracts from both domestic and foreign customers. For domestic customers, some of them are the fulfillment of the contract for 9 (nine) units of Bell 412EPI helicopters for the Army, where to date PTDI has successfully delivered 5 units. In addition, in the near future it is also planned to deliver 1 (one) unit of NC212i aircraft to the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the Indonesian Air Force, which is the second aircraft delivered from a total of 9 (nine) units of NC212i aircraft as agreed in the procurement contract with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense. Likewise, the completion of the contract for 1 (one) CN235 aircraft unit with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the Indonesian Navy which is targeted for delivery in the first quarter of 2022. As for overseas customers, currently the production process has also begun to fulfill the contract for 1 (one) unit of NC212i aircraft for MOAC Thailand.

In addition to the completion of aircraft and helicopter running contracts, PTDI is also still running the Aerosctructure business through strategic alliances / partnerships with the global aviation industry, some of which are Airbus Group, Bell Helicopters and Spirit Aerosystems. Likewise, Services work contracts from both domestic and foreign customers, where currently a concept map for developing the MRO business is also being prepared, so that later the MRO business can be used as PTDI's recurring income in the future.
