PRESS RELEASE

No. PTD/044/SP-HUMAS/XI/2022

Bali, 22 November 2022 – Public Relations PTDI

PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) as the implementing partner of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in the Indonesia Development Forum (IDF) 2022 at Movenpick Resort, Jimbaran, Bali, organized a Special Session with the theme "Reviving the Aerospace Industries through Sustainable Aircraft Projects in Indonesia".

On this occasion, PTDI Production Director Batara Silaban was present as a speaker who raised the topic of N219 Contract, Development, Industrial Set-up & Customer Support, along with several other stakeholders, such as from the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, PT Regio Aviasi Industri, Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA) and PINA Creative Financing.

It was conveyed that the N219 aircraft could answer the President's mission in terms of equitable and equitable development by providing a vehicle for multimodal connectivity to support economic growth, which could then also encourage the spread of growth centers to undeveloped areas. The N219 aircraft can be maximized for use in both the military, civilian and commercial sectors, where on November 03, 2022 PTDI has successfully obtained a procurement contract for 11 (eleven) N219 aircraft units from PT Karya Logistik Indotama. Other potential contracts in 2023 are as many as 10 (ten) units from the Indonesian Ministry of Defense / Indonesian Army and 3 (three) Amphibious version units from Riau Islands Province.

At the IDF 2022 event, Bappenas has launched the Indonesian Aerospace Industry Development Roadmap, as a form of support for the sustainability of aircraft projects, both in the form of production and development, especially the N219 aircraft, which is certainly very important for the revival and progress of the aircraft industry in Indonesia.

"We welcome Indonesia as an aerospace industry that can drive the growth of the Indonesian economy, this is the point. Several points related to the required master plan, the main thing is the real product, in this case, in the aerospace industry is how we can become an industrialized country for turboroplanes, especially passenger aircraft with a capacity of under 100 pax, and we have started with the N219, which will soon be followed by the N219 Amphibi which is expected to become an aircraft for air bridges, connectivity of islands that number 17,000. The second, of course, is that along with the aircraft itself, there must be a maintenance, repair and overhaul service industry and build an ecosystem to grow the component industry. And of course the last is how this national industry must eventually enter a competitive global industry," said Gita Amperiawan, President Director of PTDI.

The Special Session "Reviving the Aerospace Industries through Sustainable Aircraft Projects in Indonesia" is then expected to produce an ecosystem for N219 commercialization in Indonesia and follow up on Government support in rolling out N219 aircraft purchase schemes, as well as synergizing educational institutions and industry in increasing technological independence and local content, one of which is on the N219 aircraft. Thus, this session can be used as a space for interaction for these stakeholders, which can then be used as follow-up material to be submitted to the Government in supporting the preparation of development planning.
