Guinea Minister of Transportation Visits PTDI, Interested in CN235 Aircraft

In order to improve bilateral relations between Indonesia and Guinea, the Minister of Transportation of Guinea, Felix Lamah and his delegation, accompanied by the Indonesian Ambassador Dakar, Dindin Wahyudin and the Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, M. Mauludin visited PTDI and conducted a site visit to the production facility, received by PTDI Production Director, Batara Silaban and PTDI Group Head Commercial, Indar Atmoko.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries have started since 1964 and can be used as a very strong foundation for improving relations between Indonesia and Guinea in the future. As for the meeting between the Indonesian Ambassador Dakar, Dindin Wahyudin and the President of Guinea, Col. Mamadi Doumbouya on September 29, 2022, it was conveyed that currently Guinea plans to establish the Guinean Air airline, where the type of civil fleet needed is CN235 class aircraft.

With this need, the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation also fully supports the CN235 aircraft produced by PTDI to be ready to operate for civilian purposes. It is recorded that the aircraft needs are 13 units of CN235 civilian version which are then projected to be able to fulfill more than 80 routes in Guinea, which are divided into 3 Main Hubs, including Conakry, Labe and Kankan, with efficient operating costs in its class for both passenger and cargo transport.

"One of Guinea's strategic projects is the development of the transportation sector for social and economic improvement, for which PTDI is able to provide assistance for capacity building and aircraft acquisition," said Felix Lamah, Minister of Transportation of Guinea.

In order to support aircraft serviceability and readiness, PTDI will support Guinea in the implementation of Maintenance Support, both in terms of providing spare parts, ground support equipment & tools, repair & overhaul, engineering modification, and technical services & training. In addition, PTDI can also provide a Maintenance Center in Guinea with various forms of high value-added collaboration to increase the competence of Guinean human resources in the aerospace field.
