The fifth NC212i aircraft from the procurement contract for 9 (nine) NC212i aircraft by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the Indonesian Air Force end user has successfully taken off from the PTDI Hangar Delivery Center, Bandung to Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base, Malang. Director of Commerce, Technology & Development PTDI, Moh. Arif Faisal, together with the Director of Production, Batara Silaban and the Director of Finance, Risk Management & HR, Wildan Arief were present to review the preparations and ferry flight of the NC212i aircraft which would then be operated by Air Squadron 4.

This aircraft with tail number AX-2132 was sent with a Rain Making configuration and was flown by Major Pnb Syamsu Alam as Pilot in Command Ferry and First Lieutenant Pnb Luky Napitulu as Copilot, after previously this aircraft obtained a Flight Acceptance Certificate on December 1 2023. The four units others were sent on January 26, 2023, October 26, 2021, December 31, 2021 and December 28, 2022.

The NC212i aircraft delivered this time are equipped with a new propeller made by MT Propeller, Germany, namely MTV-27 which has been certified by EASA. As reported by EASA, the MTV-27 is equipped with a start pitch lock which can prevent the propeller from moving below the ideal speed. The use of MTV-27 on the NC212i has been proven to be compatible with the installed engine, namely the Honeywell TPE331, which can then produce low noise and vibration during aircraft operation.

Development of the NC212i aircraft with MT Propeller has begun in August 2023, "This is the fifth of nine aircraft ordered by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, the first aircraft to be delivered using MT Propeller. Users are very satisfied with the performance of the NC212i using the MT Propeller, because it is considered quieter and much better. "The plan is for the sixth aircraft to be delivered in April 2024, where the first to fourth aircraft that have been delivered previously will also be replaced with an MT Propeller," said Moh. Arif Faisal, Director of Commerce, Technology & Development PTDI.

The NC212i aircraft is a light transport aircraft with a modern avionics system, full glass cockpit and autopilot, which is equipped with winglets, ramp doors and has a spacious cabin compared to aircraft in its class. For its use in meeting the needs of military operations, the NC212i has various supporting features, such as radar and sophisticated navigation systems. Meanwhile, as stated by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, defense is something vital for every nation, where the delivery of the NC212i aircraft has no other purpose than to complete the military's defense equipment needs in order to strengthen the defense force posture and increase the TNI's deterrence.

PTDI as part of the Holding Defense ID under the Ministry of BUMN RI is the only aircraft manufacturing industry in the world that produces NC212i aircraft and to date there are 123 units of NC212 series aircraft that have been produced and delivered by PTDI to various customers, both domestic and international. overseas.
