PTDI-produced & Delivered Aircraft Fill Jakarta's Skies for the 80th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Army (TNI)
Jakarta (04/10) – In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Army (TNI), several aircraft produced and delivered by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) which reinforce the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), and Indonesian Army (TNI AD), took part in the Sailing Pass event on Thursday (02/10) at Jakarta Bay and the Air Show on Sunday (05/10) at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta.
The event was directly witnessed by President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto. The CN235-220 aircraft and AS565 Panther helicopter, a collaboration between PTDI and Airbus Helicopters, participated in the aerial display, where the helicopter also carried out a medical evacuation (medevac) procedure over several Indonesian Warships performing the Sea Demo during the Sailing Pass event on Thursday (02/10). On the peak of the TNI anniversary commemoration, which will take place on October 5, 2025, other flagship products of PTDI will also be showcased, including the NC212i and CN235-220 aircraft, as well as products resulting from PTDI's collaboration with Bell Helicopters, such as the Bell 412, and with Airbus Helicopters, including the AS550 Fennec, AS365 Dauphin, NAS332 Super Puma, and EC725 Caracal. These assets will perform various missions, ranging from Flypast, Defile, to carrying a giant flag representing the unity and strength of the three branches of the TNI.
Since PTDI delivered its first unit to the TNI in 1976, PTDI products have become an integral part of various defense operations and humanitarian missions, including border surveillance, logistical support for troops, search and rescue missions, and disaster relief distribution throughout the archipelago.
This year's TNI anniversary momentum symbolizes the strengthening synergy between the Government, TNI, and the national defense industry. The Government has also continuously supported the development of the domestic defense industry through various arms procurement policies and other strategic programs involving national industries. PTDI, as part of this ecosystem, plays a crucial role in ensuring the independence of aerospace technology and the operational readiness of the TNI in the air sector.
The participation of PTDI-produced and delivered aircraft in the Sailing Pass and Air Show during the TNI anniversary not only emphasizes the capability of the national aerospace industry but also demonstrates the synergy between the creations of the nation's children and the professionalism of TNI soldiers. More than that, this participation reflects PTDI's commitment to continually supporting Indonesia's defense independence, strengthening the TNI's posture, and safeguarding the sovereignty and unity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
