PTDI Develops Special Variant of N219 Aircraft for Bakamla RI — Can Track 200 Targets with a Radar Range of 160 Nautical Miles

"The Head of the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla RI), Vice Admiral Dr. Irvansyah, S.H., M.Tr.Opsla., along with his delegation, conducted a working visit to PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and PT Nusantara Turbin dan Propulsi (PT NTP) in Bandung. The purpose of the visit was to comprehensively discuss the capabilities, advantages, and technical readiness of the N219 Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA), developed by PTDI and specifically designed to support Bakamla RI’s aerial operations," stated Bakamla RI on its official Instagram account.

In the same post, Bakamla RI also explained several specifications of the ordered aircraft, including its radar surveillance capability that can detect objects up to 160 nautical miles away and track up to 200 targets.

"The President Director of PTDI explained that the N219 MSA is a high-technology multipurpose aircraft developed from the civilian N219 platform, with modifications tailored for military and maritime configurations. The aircraft features a full operational configuration, including:

  • A surveillance radar with a detection range of up to 160 nautical miles
  • The ability to track more than 200 targets simultaneously
  • A ship and oil spill detection system
  • An Anti-Jammer feature (Electronic Counter-Countermeasure/ECCM)
  • Search and Rescue (SAR) capability to support humanitarian and law enforcement operations at sea," Bakamla RI concluded in its Instagram post.
