PTDI Signs Major Contract with Japanese Giant, Set to Produce Vital Jet Aircraft Components

PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has once again demonstrated its strength on the global aerospace stage. On the second day of the prestigious Singapore Airshow 2026, the nation’s pride officially signed a Purchase Agreement (PA) with Japanese giant ShinMaywa Industries.

The strategic agreement was signed by PTDI’s Director of Commerce, Technology & Development, Moh. Arif Faisal, together with the President of Aircraft Division of ShinMaywa Industries, Hideyuki Mochida. The signing was witnessed by PTDI President Director, Gita Amperiawan, at the PTDI Booth, Changi Exhibition Center, Singapore, on Wednesday (February 4, 2026).

Becoming a Global Supplier for Boeing and Airbus

Through this cooperation, PTDI will take on a vital role as part of the global supply chain in world-class commercial jet manufacturing programs. The components produced by PTDI will be installed on major aircraft platforms such as Boeing, Airbus, and Bombardier.

PTDI has been entrusted to manufacture several large-scale aerostructure components that require extremely high precision. Its involvement in long-range business jet programs serves as clear evidence that Indonesia’s manufacturing systems have been recognized by global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

“This collaboration reflects the global industry’s trust in PTDI’s aerostructure manufacturing and engineering capabilities, while strengthening PTDI’s role in the global supply chain of leading OEMs,” said Moh. Arif Faisal.

Technological Synergy and National Self-Reliance

The cooperation with ShinMaywa—known for its world-class engineering capabilities—is expected to create strong industrial synergy. This collaboration goes beyond component orders and represents a strategic step in expanding Indonesia’s contribution to the international aerospace industry value chain.

In addition to boosting revenue, the agreement also serves as a platform for knowledge transfer to strengthen the independence of the national defense and aerospace industries.

With this new contract, PTDI further solidifies its position as a key player in Asia, capable of meeting the very strict international aerospace quality and certification standards.
