PTDI Strengthens Footprint in Malaysia Through DSA 2026, Offering End-to-End Defense Solutions

Kuala Lumpur (BRS) – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) once again demonstrated its presence in the international market by participating in the Defence Services Asia 2026 exhibition, held from April 20–23, 2026, at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This participation is a strategic step in strengthening PTDI's position as a major player in the aerospace and defense industry in the Asia Pacific region.

The exhibition, supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Defense, is known as one of the largest events in the defense sector, showcasing a variety of military technology innovations, from weapons systems to the latest electronic warfare solutions.

At the event, PTDI was present in the Indonesian Pavilion alongside companies under the defense industry holding company Defend ID. This participation also reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to strengthening regional defense industry collaboration.

PTDI has a long track record in Malaysia, particularly through its collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF). Since 1999, seven CN235-220s have been operated, consisting of one VVIP Military Transport configuration and six Military Transports.

In 2023, PTDI also successfully modified three aircraft into Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSAs) to strengthen Malaysia's maritime surveillance capabilities. This transformation demonstrates PTDI's technological capability to adapt to customer operational needs.

Beyond focusing on aircraft production, PTDI also provides comprehensive after-sales services. These services include Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO), Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), spare parts support, and aircraft structural modifications and repairs. This approach is part of an end-to-end solutions strategy that ensures long-term operational sustainability.

In addition to strengthening the CN235 platform, PTDI is also opening new collaboration opportunities in Malaysia, including the development of the NC212i and N219 aircraft, as well as the 70mm rocket system. This step is considered capable of expanding collaboration while increasing the independence of the defense industry in the region.

PTDI's Director of Commerce, Technology & Development, Moh Arif Faisal, emphasized that participation in DSA 2026 is a crucial momentum to strengthen our long-term relationship with Malaysia.

"PTDI's participation in DSA 2026 is an important momentum to strengthen our presence in Malaysia as a long-term partner. With our track record of operating the CN235-220 in the RMAF and our experience in after-sales service, we are committed to providing reliable and sustainable solutions," he said in a PTDI press release on Tuesday (April 21, 2026).

Through this event, PTDI not only showcased its flagship products but also emphasized its role as a provider of integrated defense solutions at the regional level.
