PTDI Steps Up Human Resource Development as Aircraft Training Center Inaugurated in Presence of Manpower Minister

DESKJABAR – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has entered an important new phase in strengthening the national aerospace industry as it marks its 50th anniversary. Rather than focusing solely on aircraft production readiness, PTDI is now strengthening its human resources through the inauguration of the PT Dirgantara Indonesia Training Center in Bandung on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

The inauguration of the PTDI Training Center was attended by Indonesian Minister of Manpower Yassierli, representatives of five of PTDI’s strategic partners for the Training Center, the Bandung Center for Vocational Training and Productivity, and other stakeholders. The PTDI Training Center focuses on preparing human resources to strengthen the N219 aircraft business and the planned N295 program based on the specific skills required by the industry through vocational training.

The move has become increasingly strategic following PTDI’s announcement that it has secured orders for 42 N219 aircraft from the government and military sectors, as well as seven aircraft for the commercial market. PTDI also has a cooperation project with Airbus Defence and Space involving the CN295 aircraft.

PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan emphasized on the occasion that, from an industrial standpoint, PTDI is ready to develop its N219 business. The next challenge is ensuring the availability of human resources with the competencies, certifications, and qualifications required by the aviation industry.

“The inauguration of this Training Center is part of our efforts to prepare the necessary human resources,” Gita said, outlining the company’s direction.

The PTDI Training Center is not intended solely as an internal training facility, but is being developed as an institution for education, certification, and qualification of aerospace industry personnel. Through this concept, the process of improving human resource competencies is expected to become more efficient while addressing the evolving needs of the aviation industry.

60 Human Resources Sent to Korea

Efforts to prepare qualified human resources are already underway. PTDI said around 140 participants have taken part in its programs, with 60 of them sent to South Korea through cooperation with Korean industry partners. Interestingly, some participants from the program have subsequently been given opportunities to work in South Korea.

This initiative demonstrates that PTDI’s human resource development program is not only aimed at meeting domestic workforce needs, but also at providing participants with experience and competencies that meet global industry standards. PTDI is also preparing around 150 people to participate in internship programs.

On the product side, the N219 is one of PTDI’s strategic programs.

The aircraft is being developed not only for transportation needs, but also in various configurations, including amphibious and air ambulance versions. With these characteristics, the N219 has the potential to serve regions of Indonesia with challenging geographical conditions while supporting healthcare services as well as government and military operations.

International Cooperation

PTDI continues to expand its cooperation with the global aerospace industry. As part of the Training Center inauguration agenda, PTDI highlighted its cooperation with AMMROC regarding technical rectification for C295 aircraft.

Indonesian Minister of Manpower Yassierli expressed his confidence that the inauguration of the PTDI Training Center demonstrates that the national aerospace industry now has the facilities and capabilities needed to develop the human resources required for aircraft production.

For PTDI, strengthening human resources is an important part of the company’s journey as it enters its fifth decade. After five decades of building Indonesia’s national aircraft industry capabilities, the next challenge is ensuring that Indonesia has skilled professionals capable of supporting aircraft production, maintenance, certification, and aerospace technology development.

With 42 N219 aircraft on order and the development of various aircraft variants, the demand for qualified aviation professionals is also increasing. The PTDI Training Center is expected to serve as one of the foundations for meeting this growing need.
