PTDI and West Java Provincial Government Sign MoU on 50-Hectare Sorghum Mechanization Program

Bandung (ANTARA) – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), together with the West Java Provincial Government, an offtaker company, and Paguyuban Pasundan, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop sorghum mechanization across a 50-hectare pilot area in West Java.

Under the cooperation scheme, the West Java Provincial Government will provide the agricultural land, while PTDI will take full responsibility for designing, producing, and implementing mechanization equipment to process sorghum-derived products.

PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan, speaking on the sidelines of PTDI’s 50th Anniversary celebration at the PTDI complex in Bandung on Saturday, emphasized that the initiative represents the company’s Environmental and Social Responsibility (TJSL) commitment to combine its manufacturing technology expertise with the region’s food needs.

“God willing, today we will sign an MoU between the West Java Regional Government, offtaker PT Santana Manggala Karya, PTDI, under the auspices of Paguyuban Pasundan. We are signing a joint memorandum of agreement,” Gita said.

Gita explained that PTDI’s involvement in sorghum development is not merely a ceremonial social initiative, but part of the company’s strategic mission to transfer precision industrial technology to modernize agricultural processing equipment in West Java.

“PTDI’s role is to carry out the mechanization. We will therefore produce various types of machinery for the downstream processing of sorghum products,” Gita said.

In addition to the food sector, PTDI is strengthening its educational network by developing a Goes to School program and university collaborations with Paguyuban Pasundan to introduce the aerospace industry to younger generations from an early age.

The initiative is aligned with efforts to strengthen the aviation industry ecosystem as a whole. On the same occasion, PTDI also prepared a training center supported by an Approved Maintenance Training Organization (AMTO) partnership in North Bali to produce certified aircraft maintenance specialists.

The strengthening of industrial capabilities is also supported by guidance from Danantara Development to consolidate Indonesian aviation experts and professionals living overseas. This further underscores PTDI’s broader direction: the company is no longer focused solely on aircraft production, but is also ready to build a comprehensive national industrial and technology ecosystem.
