Junior Reporters of Media Indonesia 2026 Fly High with PT Dirgantara Indonesia

Media Indonesia hosted the Reporter Cilik (Junior Reporter) Media Indonesia, a journalistic education program designed for primary school students to learn about journalism from an early age. This year, the event was held in collaboration with PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) to celebrate PTDI's 50th anniversary.

Through this program, participants learned the fundamentals of journalism, ranging from observing and gathering information, conducting interviews, and reporting from the field to writing news stories. The activity is expected to encourage children to ask questions confidently, think critically, write, and express their thoughts through journalistic works.

Previously, a total of 50 selected participants were curated from various primary schools across the Greater Bandung area. Prior to taking field assignments, they attended an online journalistic training session via Zoom hosted by Media Indonesia on Saturday (22/8). The training covered basic techniques of news gathering and writing.

Furthermore, on Monday (24/8), the participants took part in a factory visit to PTDI. They had the opportunity to observe the aerospace industry environment and its operations firsthand while interviewing PTDI staff and board of directors. This experience provided the material for the participants to draft their news articles based on their observations and interviews.

The works of the Junior Reporters were published on mediaindonesia.com. Three representatives of the Junior Reporters also attended PTDI's main anniversary event to share their experiences while carrying out their reporting duties.

In addition to serving as an educational medium for journalism, this program successfully broke a record with the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI). See you at the next Media Indonesia Junior Reporter event!
