Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Inspects PTDI Products at IISAR 2026; Helicopters and SAR Aircraft Take Center Stage
Jakarta (BRS) – The first day of the Indonesian International Search and Rescue (IISAR) 2026 exhibition at NICE, Pantai Indah Kapuk 2, North Jakarta, was enlivened by the presence of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI). This state-owned aerospace enterprise showcased a range of flagship products designed to support search and rescue missions. Running from July 9 to 12, 2026, PTDI occupied Booth C01 in Hall C (Stand No. 10). On display were various key aerial platforms—including helicopters produced in collaboration with Bell, as well as the CN235, NC212, and N219 aircraft—alongside engineering service products such as the "Elang Hitam" MALE (Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance) Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle and the "Wulung" Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Menko PMK) Pratikno personally visited the PTDI and Bell booths on Wednesday, July 9, 2026. He took a close look at technologies that could be utilized by Basarnas (the National Search and Rescue Agency) and other SAR organizations during field operations. "These products are crucial for supporting our SAR operations. Synergy between the domestic industry and global partners must continue to be strengthened to enhance national self-reliance," Pratikno remarked while viewing the helicopter resulting from the PTDI-Bell collaboration. PTDI’s participation in IISAR 2026 also involved its subsidiary, PT Nusantara Turbin dan Propulsi (PT NTP). PT NTP possesses capabilities in the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of aircraft engines and industrial turbines; its presence complemented the company's end-to-end solutions. Initiated by Basarnas, this event is more than just a standard exhibition; IISAR 2026 integrates an exhibition, a forum, and operational challenges. SAR authorities, industry players, and stakeholders from various countries have come together on a single collaborative platform. For PTDI, IISAR represents a strategic opportunity. Beyond showcasing its capabilities, the company aims to expand its network of national and international partnerships. PTDI’s commitment to the SAR sector is well-established. Between 2013 and 2019, PTDI delivered six AS365 N3+ Dauphin SAR helicopters to Basarnas. These helicopters were specifically designed for search and rescue operations across Indonesia's diverse terrain. Beyond aircraft sales, PTDI maintains strong after-sales capabilities, offering services ranging from maintenance, repair, and overhauls to technical support to ensure the SAR fleet remains mission-ready. PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan stated that the company continues to refine its capabilities across the board—from design, manufacturing, and system integration to after-sales support. "We aim to provide aerospace solutions that are reliable, adaptive, and competitive. Our singular goal is to support humanitarian and safety missions at both national and international levels," he said. Through IISAR 2026, PTDI hopes to further strengthen its collaboration with Basarnas and other partners. The national aerospace industry also seeks to demonstrate its role: going beyond mere aircraft manufacturing to become a vital part of saving human lives.
