PTDI Pushes PT NTP to Develop Solar Turbines Taurus 60

PTDI strengthens the national MRO industry through PT NTP, which is developing Solar Turbines Taurus™ 60 capabilities to support domestic technological self-reliance.

BANDUNG, INFOBAIK — PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) (PTDI) continues to push for stronger capabilities across its subsidiaries as part of building up the national industrial ecosystem.

One example is PT Nusantara Turbin dan Propulsi (PT NTP), PTDI's subsidiary engaged in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft engines and industrial turbines.

The strengthening of PT NTP's capabilities was marked by the inauguration of Solar Turbines Taurus™ 60 capability, along with the launch of an overhaul-exchange facility and domestic manufacturing of the Solar Turbines Taurus™ 60 Single Shaft engine, held at PT NTP's facility in Bandung on Thursday (27/8/2026).

The event was attended by a number of stakeholders, including Head of SKK Migas Djoko Siswanto; Director of Development and Production at Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Rachmat Hidajat; President Director of Pertamina Gas Indra Sembiring; Head of the Center for Domestic Component Level Enhancement (P3DN) at the Ministry of Industry Kris Sasono Ngudi Wibowo; Coordinator for Domestic Oil and Gas Potential Empowerment at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas Heru Windiarto; Managing Director Asia Pacific South at Solar Turbines Darryl Wang; President Director of PT Indoturbine Deni Budi Kurnianto; President Director of PTDI Gita Amperiawan; and President Director of PT NTP Suryanto.

PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan noted that developing PT NTP's capabilities is a key part of strengthening PTDI's business ecosystem and MRO capacity.

"As one of our subsidiaries, PT NTP focuses its expertise on engineering and MRO, particularly for aero engines, industrial gas turbines, and rotating equipment. Developing PT NTP's capabilities is an important part of strengthening PTDI's business ecosystem and MRO capacity. This development also reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing technological mastery and domestic industrial self-reliance. Technological mastery must be continuously supported through improved human resource competency, facility development, and sustained collaboration with our partners," he explained.

PT NTP has extensive experience supporting Solar Turbines products in Indonesia and is a trusted Authorized MRO Shop for Solar Turbines in the country. The partnership between PT NTP, Solar Turbines, and PT Indoturbine has been in place since 1987.

Over the years, PT NTP has continued to expand its capabilities. With the development of the Taurus™ 60, PT NTP broadens its maintenance and overhaul service offerings. The Solar Turbines Taurus™ 60 is an industrial gas turbine used across a range of industrial applications, including the oil and gas sector and power generation.

Meanwhile, PT NTP President Director Suryanto said the development of the Taurus™ 60 marks an important step in meeting the evolving needs of the industry and improving service to customers.

"Today's inauguration is more than just an added capability for PT NTP. It represents a shared effort to meet the industry's dynamic needs, deliver better service to all our customers, and strengthen national industrial self-reliance, particularly in the oil and gas sector," said PT NTP President Director Suryanto.

The development of the Taurus™ 60 is the result of synergy between PT NTP, PT Indoturbine, and Solar Turbines, and forms part of PTDI's broader effort to advance technological mastery, human resource competency, and domestic industrial capability through collaboration with strategic partners.

For PTDI, developing Taurus™ 60 capability at PT NTP is part of a wider effort to strengthen domestic industrial and MRO capabilities. Going forward, PTDI will continue to drive the development of its subsidiaries' capabilities by advancing technological mastery, building human resource competency, and collaborating with strategic partners to support the needs of national industry.
