Indonesian Aerospace (IAe) and Bell Mark Four Decades of Strategic Partnership at IISAR 2026
North Jakarta (10/07) – On the second day of the Indonesia International Search and Rescue (IISAR) 2026 exhibition at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), Pantai Indah Kapuk 2, North Jakarta, Indonesian Aerospace (IAe) held a ceremony commemorating 40 years of partnership with Bell Textron Inc. (Bell), symbolizing the continuity of collaboration between the two companies in supporting the development of the aerospace industry.
At this moment, IAe's Director of Commerce and Development, Moh. Arif Faisal, presented a plaque titled Honoring 40 Years of Strategic Partnership to Bell Textron Inc.'s representative, Business Development Director Yudhistira Nugraha, witnessed by IAe's Vice President Commissioner, Bagus Purohito, as a form of recognition for four decades of strategic partnership built on trust and continuous collaboration between the two companies. This also reaffirms that IAe and Bell will continue to strengthen their synergy in delivering helicopter solutions and supporting the advancement of the aerospace industry in Indonesia.
The ceremony was one of IAe's agenda items during the IISAR 2026 event series, which brings together various stakeholders in the field of Search and Rescue (SAR). IISAR 2026 serves as a collaborative platform bringing together government agencies, industry players, academics, and international partners to present innovations, technologies, products, and services supporting SAR operations, disaster response, and humanitarian missions. IAe's participation in this event reflects the company's commitment to supporting the strengthening of the national SAR ecosystem through aerospace solutions.
"Forty years is an achievement that reflects the trust, commitment, and relationship that have been consistently built between Bell and IAe. IAe is committed to continuing to strengthen its cooperation with Bell through the development of increasingly integrated services, ranging from helicopter assembly, customization, and modification, to maintenance services, after-sales support, and improved customer service. We believe that by combining Bell's global experience with IAe's industrial capabilities, we can continue to deliver the best solutions for customers while supporting the growth of the aerospace industry in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region," said IAe's Director of Commerce and Development, Moh. Arif Faisal.
Meanwhile, Business Development Director Yudhistira Nugraha conveyed that Bell appreciates the partnership that has been built with IAe over the past four decades. "The relationship between Bell and IAe has spanned more than four decades. This cooperation began with the production of helicopter components for Bell and continued in 2012 through the signing of an Industrial and Commercial Agreement. That agreement gave IAe the opportunity not only to carry out the sale and final delivery of helicopters, but also to add equipment and configure the Bell 412 in accordance with the missions required by end users. We are committed to strengthening and enhancing our cooperation with IAe," said Business Development Director Yudhistira Nugraha.
Four Decades of IAe–Bell Partnership
The IAe–Bell partnership has developed over four decades through various forms of collaboration in the fields of manufacturing, maintenance, and helicopter industry development. This long-term relationship serves as the foundation for both companies to build mutually reinforcing cooperation that adds value to Indonesia's aerospace industry.
As the partnership has continued to grow, IAe and Bell have kept expanding the scope of their collaboration through various strategic initiatives. At the Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum, held in June 2025, both companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in providing special-mission Bell helicopters for the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian government agencies, with IAe acting as the mission equipment integrator supporting various missions, including SAR, medical evacuation, and armed reconnaissance. The agreement also covers the development of after-sales services for Bell helicopter operators in Indonesia, as well as plans to expand cooperation by increasing IAe's authority in the marketing and sale of Bell 505 helicopters and expanding the market coverage of special-mission helicopters in the ASEAN region.
Bell After-Sales Service
As a follow-up to the continuously developing partnership, IAe continues to strengthen its capabilities in providing after-sales services for various Bell helicopter operators in Indonesia. As a Bell Authorized Maintenance Center (AMC), IAe is part of Bell's official service network, providing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services, modifications, technical support, warranty services, official spare parts supply, and various maintenance services in accordance with Bell standards to support the operational readiness of customer fleets. Supported by facilities, infrastructure, and competent human resources, IAe is committed to delivering quality services to Bell operators in Indonesia.
The commemoration of four decades of the IAe–Bell partnership at IISAR 2026 reflects the close collaboration between the two companies in supporting the needs of helicopter operators in Indonesia while driving the development of the national aerospace industry. This spirit aligns with the goal of IISAR 2026 as a platform for synergy among various stakeholders in strengthening SAR operation readiness, disaster response, and humanitarian missions.
